Getting Started
Install FoodFlex, create your first meal, and go live on your Shopify store.
Find FoodFlex in the Shopify App Store and click Install. The app integrates directly with your Shopify admin — no code modifications required. FoodFlex uses Shopify OAuth for secure authentication, so your store data is protected from day one.
From the FoodFlex admin dashboard, navigate to Meals and click Create. Set a name, base price, and description. Then add option groups — categories like proteins, toppings, and sides — with individual options that customers choose from.
Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize in your Shopify admin. Add FoodFlex app blocks to your product pages. The storefront widgets automatically adapt to your theme’s colors and typography. FoodFlex works with all Online Store 2.0 themes.
The free plan includes up to 3 customizable meals, 5 option groups per meal, 1 menu, dynamic pricing, conditional logic, kitchen display, and order management. No credit card required. It’s a fully functional tier — not a limited trial.
Meals & Customization
Option groups, conditional logic, and the visual meal builder.
Option groups are categories of choices (proteins, toppings, sides, sauces). Each group has a minimum and maximum selection constraint — for example, "Choose 1–3 proteins." Individual options within a group can have their own prices, availability, and display order.
Conditional logic creates rules that show, hide, or require options based on what the customer has already selected. For example, "If chicken is selected, show BBQ sauce" or "If gluten-free bun is chosen, hide regular bun." Rules run automatically on the storefront.
Upload a base image of your dish, then assign images to individual options. Each topping, protein, or side gets its own layer with positioning, scaling, and opacity controls. As customers select options, the meal image updates in real time. Available on Professional and Enterprise plans.
Multi-Location & POS
Managing multiple locations, location-aware content, and POS integration.
Navigate to Locations in the admin and create locations with name, address, and contact details. Assign meals and menus to specific locations. Professional plans support up to 3 locations. Enterprise plans support unlimited locations.
Meals, menus, and orders can be filtered by location. On the storefront, the location picker lets customers choose their nearest location to see relevant menus. Analytics are location-aware so you can compare performance across sites.
The FoodFlex POS extension runs on any device that supports Shopify POS — typically iPads or Android tablets. No additional hardware is required beyond the POS device. For kitchen printers, you need a PrintNode-compatible network printer.
Pricing & Billing
Dynamic pricing, plan management, and billing information.
Each option can have a fixed price modifier (+$2 for extra cheese) or a percentage modifier (+15% for large size). You can also create pricing rules for bundles and combos — for example, "Select from 3+ groups and get 10% off." All calculations happen in real time on the storefront and are verified server-side before checkout.
Navigate to Settings > Billing in the FoodFlex admin. Upgrades take effect immediately, giving you instant access to new features. Downgrades apply at the end of the current billing cycle. Your data is always preserved when switching plans.
Yes. All paid plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee. If FoodFlex isn’t the right fit for your food business, contact us within 30 days of your first payment for a full refund — no questions asked.
Nutrition & Allergens
Nutrition data entry, allergen warnings, and dietary filters.
Edit any option in a meal and enter nutritional values — calories, protein, fat, carbs, fiber, and sodium. FoodFlex calculates totals in real time as customers build their meal. The nutrition display updates instantly on the storefront.
Flag allergens (gluten, dairy, tree nuts, peanuts, shellfish, soy, eggs, fish, sesame) on individual options. When a customer adds an option with flagged allergens, clear warnings appear automatically on the storefront. No manual checking required.
FoodFlex supports dietary filters including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free. Customers can filter options by their dietary needs, seeing only options that match their restrictions. Filters are based on the allergen and ingredient data you enter per option.
Orders, Operations & Integrations
Kitchen display, printers, delivery, POS, subscriptions, API access, and support.
The kitchen display shows orders in a 3-column Kanban board (New, Preparing, Ready) with auto-refresh. Click an order card to advance its status. Each card shows the full customization details, special instructions, and scheduled time. Available on all plans.
Customers choose a subscription frequency (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) during checkout. You configure discount percentages (up to 50%) to reward commitment. FoodFlex’s SubscriptionScheduler automatically creates orders on the set schedule. Customers can pause, modify, or cancel through their account.
The Enterprise plan includes a public REST API with 9 endpoints covering meals, menus, categories, nutrition, and orders. API access uses SHA-256 key authentication with per-key rate limiting. Full API documentation is available in the admin.
Email support@foodflex.to for all support inquiries. Free plan users receive standard email support. Professional plan users get priority support with faster response times. Enterprise plan users have a dedicated support contact.
The FoodFlex POS extension adds a tile to your Shopify POS that opens a modal with menu browsing, meal customization, and cart integration. Staff browse menus, customize meals with dynamic pricing, and add them to the POS cart. Offline mode caches menu data for use when connectivity is limited. Available on Professional and Enterprise plans.
FoodFlex connects to network printers via PrintNode. Configure printers per location in the Kitchen Printers settings, enable auto-print, and order tickets are automatically sent to the assigned printer when new orders arrive. Tickets include full order details, customizations, and special instructions. Available on Professional and Enterprise plans.
FoodFlex integrates with DoorDash Drive and Uber Direct. Configure your delivery provider credentials in the Delivery settings. When an order is ready, dispatch it with one click from the kitchen display. Track delivery status, estimated arrival, and driver updates in real time via webhook callbacks. Available on Professional and Enterprise plans.
Enterprise plan users can create up to 10 webhook subscriptions that receive real-time event notifications via HTTP POST. Each subscription generates a signing secret for HMAC-SHA256 payload verification. Failed deliveries retry with exponential backoff (1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour) and auto-disable after 10 consecutive failures. View delivery logs in the admin.
